1. Who we are
NionTV Ltd ("NionTV", "we", "us") is a streaming service operated from the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, NionTV Ltd is the data controller. Registered address: 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5AB, United Kingdom. Contact: support@niontv.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use NionTV, we may process: account details (name, email address); subscription and plan preferences; viewing progress, My List and settings; device and technical data (browser type, approximate region); payment-related information needed to process your membership; and messages you send via our contact form (name, email, subject and message content).
3. How we use your information
We use personal data to provide and improve the service; authenticate your account; remember your list and watch progress; process subscriptions and payments; respond to support requests; maintain security; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
We process data where necessary for the performance of a contract with you; where we have a legitimate interest (service improvement, fraud prevention, analytics) that is not overridden by your rights; where you have given consent; or where required by law.
5. Local storage & cookies
Session tokens, subscription status, My List, continue watching and preferences may be stored in your browser (LocalStorage / cookies) to deliver a fast personalised experience. You can clear this data at any time via your browser settings or by signing out. Essential cookies may be used to protect routes and keep you signed in.
6. Third-party services
We request catalogue metadata from The Movie Database (TMDB) and sports data from API-Football / API-Sports. Requests are made from our servers using API keys. Those providers process technical request data under their own privacy policies. We do not control TMDB or API-Football content accuracy.
7. International transfers
Where third-party APIs are hosted outside the UK, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) may apply under those providers' terms. Our primary service presentation is targeted at users in the United Kingdom.
8. Retention
Device-held data remains until you delete it or clear site data. Contact form submissions are used to respond to your enquiry and retained only as long as needed for support and legal compliance. Retention periods may be updated in this policy from time to time.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Children's privacy
NionTV is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it from any systems under our control.
11. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures, including HTTPS in production deployments and careful handling of API credentials. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of NionTV after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
